you can get births and marriages on family search for free i just found one for 1988 my grandson and 2006 mothers name given

can't believe what I have seen searching for the births, as late as the 70's so many children died young, wonder if its a coincidence or from the same parents, how sad.

FreeBMD has no completed quarters for births past 1974q1 and 11 essentially completed in the 1970s.
There are 9 incomplete quarters 1963-66, plus 3 earlier incomplete quarters.
For marrs, the corresponding values are 1973q1 and 7, 12 in 1964-69, plus 1 earlier.
Deaths are essentially complete thru 1971q3, with nothing completed later.

The earlier incomplete quarters are:

Births Sep 1940 (54%) **************
Births Dec 1943 (58%) **************
Births Dec 1958 (84%) **************
Marriages Dec 1952 (52%) *******************

FreeBMD has images for all quarters thru 1983 online, but the most recent are not transcribed yet.

FreeBMD is still work in progress and they are up to about 1960 in their Transcriptions

Anything after that will get no records found . Doesn't mean its not there just means they dont have it as yet :-)
