Hi, I am interested in any information on the above as I have recently found my grandad was there (1911) census. Why did children get sent there, did they get training, what were conditions like and what happened when they 'came of age'

Thank you, Jackie

Nottingham training institution for Pauper Children, Hartley Road, Nottingham

From that one could assume
- they or their parents were destitute
- they were given in training in some form or other.
