It may help your friend, if he could tell you what in relation, Mr Daniels is to him,

Having drawn a blank on any possible knowledge about the rag & bone man of Barking, Mr Daniels and nothing at all from the local history centre, my friend has lost interest so I am reluctantly going to draw a veil over this affair.
Thank you to those who communicated, best regards, Jim

Not having used a nudge before, I asked how to do it and had 2 replies.
It has been done but I should probably have noted it on his appeal, now done.

Thanks for your suggestions Patchem.

There is absolutely no idea on the DoB for Mr Daniels and from the initial search on family tree's on GR, there are a lot of them.
It was the information that Mr Daniels was a Totter that made me see if it might prompt someone's memory.

The local history society is a really good suggestion & I will be advising my friend to do just that.
Regards, Jim

Have you considered getting in touch with a local history society for more specialist local knowledge?

Any idea of an approximate birth year for Mr Daniels?

I'm trying to help a friend who knows little of his ancestry so if I'm not in the right area please let me know where to post this message.

Does anyone know anything about a Mr Daniels who was a rag and bone man in the late 1940's - early 1950's. It is known that he had a horse called Dolly and stabled her near Barking Railway Station.

Even a first name for Mr Daniels would be appreciated.

Yes, I did a family tree search but with the amount of Daniels on there I need a more positive starting point.

Thanks for reading this. Jim
