I cannot see any other entries relating to John & Elizabeth Coombes at Ducklington/Southleigh or Stanton Harcourt
Southleigh have the following {Conny/Coney etc}

Marriage-21 February 1791
Thomas CONNEY
Sarah GREEN
Wit=John Spier/Elias Walker

A William & Elizabeth Green ere baptising babies in the 1760s but could not see a Sarah !

Thomas and Sarah baptised several children in addition to Jane

15 Jun 1794-Elizabeth
05 Feb 1797-Mary
26 May 1799-Mary Ann
29 Feb 1802-Ann
26 Feb 1806-Joice
05 Jun 1808Alice

Buriels
17 Jul 1798-Mary 18 months
05 Feb 1804-Mary Ann 4 yrs
17 Jun 1897-Joice 1 & 1/2 yrs
10 Jun 1808-Alice 2 weeks
15 Apr 1845-Sarah 82
26 May 146-Thomas 87

The earliest Conney baptism at Southleigh is in 1784 for Hannah d Thomas & Ann

There is a buriel for an Ann Coney in 1785 age 28 so it looks as if Thomas may have been a widower when he married Sarah

nothing specific to add to help at the moment

just wanted to say the story about Cornwall is very credible

one side of my family is copper/tin mining in Cornwall and one of my 5xgreat grandmothers there is a Coombs :-)

spelt COUMBE on their parish marriage record

I don't see a marriage of a John COUM*/COOM*/COMB* to an Eliz at around the right time at the OPC site though

http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/search-database/marriages/

and there are far too many baptisms for John with variants of the name to have any idea whether your John may have been born there
