Adding a new family member doesn't always work

There is a problem in that once you have used the add existing relative function, the default becomes that option.

To get out of it, add another generation to the 'father' or mother', even if you don't know the details. (just put Uk Uk)

Then go back to the generation you are adding to and you will again see the option to add new relative

What changes do you expect there to be when you add a second forename?

There is limited space in the 'name' box..................as long as the second name shows in the expanded version, I don't think you have a problem

I've been merrily building a tree and all of a sudden, when I wanted to add a third sibling to one branch, it only gave me the option of an existing relative. I can't see any reason for this. I tried adding the new one as a son of the father, but it still wanted an existing person, likewise with the mother's branch.

Other annoying things are:

When I edit a person, using the right hand edit panel, to, shall we say, add a middle name the entry doesn't change anything - yes, I have clicked "save".

In the Search panel I sometimes have changed, say, the year of birth because I have found a confirmed value, clicked on the Search button, and all the values at the top revert to the "old" values.

Does anyone one know if this is just the way Genes Reunited is sometimes? I'm beginning to think I should have paid the extra to use Ancestry.co.uk....
