Trying to find the entry for '6 Lower Phillimore Place' or 'Phillimore Place' (Kensington). Persons with surnames Smyth and Kirwan believed to be living there. Also same for 1851. Please can anyone help me?

I can't find a Phillimore Place in the 1841 or 1851 census. In the 1861 census there is this entry for a Smith (not Smyth):-

Thank you for trying. My lady Smyth made her will in August 1841 when she was at 6 Lower Phillimore Place. Kirwan living with her.
Same address given for a Miss Kirwan in 1846.

Have found it in 1851. I used other sources to find someone living in Lower Phillimore Place at that time. That leads to HO 107 1468.
No. 6 appears in image 59 - but the family I was looking for no longer there...........
Will now use names of other occupants of neighbouring houses to look for them in 1841! Which will hopefully lead me to Phillimore Place in 1841.....

As the census was taken March/April time it could account for why the family wasnt there at that time but was by August.

I've found a site which lists streets in London census returns and in the Kensington section Lower Phillimore Place appears in 1851 (and I have now found it, see above) BUT it does not appear in 1841.
Was it missed?
I took about 15 surnames from the 1851 Street but can find none of them in 1841 .............!

have you tried Googling Phillimore Place or Lower Phillimore Place to see if you can find when the houses were built?

It seems Lower Phillimore Place is just not covered in the 1841 census.
I have found references to it in newspapers of that time - so it was definitely there at that time.

The family that I was trying to locate in the 1841 census were in the area of what was subsequently named Edge Street. At that time it was groups of cottages - Edge Terrace, Cousins Cottages, Reservoir Cottages. I was doing this search by looking through umpteen microfilms - before census were all online. Only later did I find that the images I needed just did not exist.

That area is just south of the High Street, whereas Phillimore Estate is just to the north. I have not been able to find a plan or street listing of the total area of Kensington that is not available. Which is why I stated "maybe".
