A James Cambrey born abt 1822 - 1825 Gloucestershire is listed on the passenger list from Liverpool to Tasmania in 1855 - if it is the same one he died in Victoria Australia in 1888 {on Ancestry trees}

I would be grateful if someone who has an Ancestry Worldwide sub could see what additional info is provided on the passenger lists please ?

Is this him?

James Cambray

Name: James Cambray
Arrival Port: Hobart
Arrival Date: 6 Sep 1855
Departure Port: Liverpool
Ship: Donald Mckay
Gender: Male
Place of Origin: Gloucester
Birth Year: abt 1825

I find the handwriting on the original very difficult to read. He seems to be with a wife aged 25 whose name I can't make out. There's also a son George whose age seems to be in months. He was born Gloucestershire, wife & son born Pembrokeshire, I think.

On this record wife is Mary and son George is 6 months.

Wow GlasgowLass..... that is great-yes his parents were Stephen and Mary and this info tallies with what is on the Ancestry trees but as Jacqueline points out there are no sources quoted except "Ancestry trees" so they are copying each other !

I have been contacted by a descendent of James via Ancestry as he is in my more extended family and they have only got back to Stephen so far

So thank you all :-)

At least you now have the sources to show that the Ancestry trees are correct, even if they did copy from each other!
