Perhaps you might find them in Kelly's Sussex Directory 1911 - a lengthy search:

They're not listed as BFL, but maybe with their full name, whatever that might be.

That company was only started in 2007, Ann.

And this one, which was called BFL to start with, was only founded in 2002:

It appears that the Archives covering Brighton is called The Keep.

If you were to contact them, they may be able to shed some light on BFL Co Ltd.

When my grandfather retired in 1910 in Brighton he was presented with a fine mantelpiece clock inscribed 'From the Staff and Employees of the BFL Co. Ltd'. I have tried very hard to identify this Co. - without success. He was an electrical engineer. I have wondered if the inscription should have been BEL Co. ie Brighton Electric Light Co., but the letter is clearly an F
Please can anyone help?
