Sorry I'm still a novice and I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.
I'm looking for a grandfather who went to Australia in 1925/6. Unfortunately i only have his surname. From the little information i do have I'm assuming he was approx the same age as my grand mother and born in the same city.

I now have lists of ships that left the UK and landed in Australia in 1925/6 together with the name of the ships and the ports of embarkation and disembarkation.
What do i need to do next to identify whether anyone on the list is the person I'm looking for.
Thanks :-|
