Dear Andy,
Wow! That was quick! Thank you sooo much! So it doesn't look like Eileen got married as the surname the same so my hopes of finding decedents doesn't look promising.
I'm actually going to Oamaru for a couple of days so at least I can try and find the church and vicarage.
Thanks again, you're a star! x

Best regards
Susie <3

He returned in 1936 from New Zealand to old home in Syd.member of large & well known family, parents lived in Rowland Grove, Wells Park Rd. He stayed with his sister Mrs. Merryfield in Dartmouth Rd. He had lived in New Zealand for 40years.He entered Selwyn College Dunedin to train to be a priest.1st appt. St. Mary's Palmerston, later apptd. Vicar of Manioto for 9 years. Then vicar of Waikouaiti, in diocese of Dunedin. Then resigned in order to serve the church in the homeland. He had been doing duty at St. Andrew's church Romford, ti was thought he caught a chill officiating at funerals. His funeral from his brother Wm's (G.Grandad) house, interrred in family grave at Ladywell Cemetery. -(unclear bit on clipping, rueined by sellotape) poss.reads - His wife and daughter are at present in New Zealand and were contemplating following him to England" Did they follow? or are there descendants still there?

Dear Lovely Genes People!
Need your help please!
I'm travelling to New Zealand early next month and would like to try and find ancestors if any of GG Uncle Charles. As mentioned above he's interred in the family plot and I would like to give them a photo of their ancestor. I've tried looking at shipping lists and can't find any trace of him. Can't look for his wife as I've no idea what her name was or if indeed she did manage to follow on. I'm presuming that he met married her in N.Z. ANY info you can find would be most useful and greatly appreciated! TIA Susie <3 :-S
PS Will be off here for a while so will look daily for responses, thanks again S
PPS Sydenham is in South London SE26 however was known as Sydenham Kent way back :-D
