I don't think I've seen this website mentioned before. It list childrens homes and other institutions such as Mother and Baby Homes. I found it while researching the address on my birth cert - turns out it was a Magdalene Home (of the laundry scandal).

The site is run by the same people who do www.workhouses.org.uk and may be of interest to someone.
