Welcome to the boards Margaret.

As Ann said, we need more information to be able to help you. Bear in mind that anything you post here can be picked up on an Internet search.

When approx was he born, and where?
What was his sister's name?
Do you know the names of his parents?

Failing all else, you could visit the nearest library which hold historic electoral rolls and search all of Duke Street for any Percival listings.
George may have been too young, but other Percival relatives may have registered to vote.

If you have a good idea of his year of birth, then use the search all member trees - top right under search - and send a message to any tree owners. They may be related.

Sorry I should have given you more information.Edith and George were my Grandfathers sister and brother. Edith was born in Lymm in Cheshire in 1892 and George was born in Liverpool in 1901. Their parents were William Percival and Ann Bate both from Cheshire. Other brothers were John Henry (my Grandfather),James, William all born in Lymm and Edward born in Liverpool.

Thank You for this information but i know where she was in 1911, it is after this I have lost trace of her. I know Edith and George lived in Duke street in Garston in the late 50s/early 60s. it is the time in between i am looking at.

If Edith was with George in the '60s, does that mean she never married?

As historical ER aren't indexed and online for Garston, it's difficult to tell where they were.

As you know where they lived in the 1960's, track down the electoral roll for the address and work back in the years. At least you'll be able to work in and moved out.. The ER are probably held at the local archives/local studies centre.

Books of ER are arranged by address, not by surname

The 1939 Identity Cards are due to released later this year. As they will be indexed, it might be possible to find Edith and her brother.

To be honest, it's almost impossible for outsiders to know when or where someone else lived every year of their lives. If every single set of historical electoral rolls were indexed and on line, there might be a better chance.

Did either of them marry or have children? The birth/marriage certificates would give the address at that time. Were they informants on their parents or siblings death certificates? Again, they'd have to give their address.

Hi,
thanks for the advice.I have tried most of the things you suggest but thats the problem. George did not marry , Edith did. She had two daugthers but as I do not know her married name I cannot trace her through her children. Finding Georges death certificate is a good idea ,I can remember him dying as that was the last time I was in their house as a child with my mother
thanks again Margaret

Edith's ER entry would give her married name. Then we can work out who her children were.

The ER are probably held at Liverpool
https://liverpool.gov.uk/libraries/archives-family-history/
Contact them to confirm, arrange a visit or to ask how much they'd charge to search on your behalf.

Maps show a Garston OLD Road. Was this the correct name?

????

Name: George Percival
Birth Date: abt 1902
Date of Registration: Mar 1967
Age at Death: 65

Inferred County: Lancashire
Volume: 10d
Page: 130

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Oct 2015 09:56

Suggestion only for Edith's marriage - only the cert will tell you if its the correct one

Name: Edith Percival
Spouse Surname: Ellis - Frederick
Registration Year: 1914
Registration Quarter: Jul-Aug-Sep
Registration district: Liverpool

There are a number of Ellis/Percival births, in particular

Births Mar 1915 (>99%)
ELLIS Frederick W Percival W. Derby 8b 1291

As the marriage, if correct, was at the beginning of WW1, there is a possibility that Frederick died and that Edith remarried. Needle and haystack time again!
