Thank you Kay??? I will check those out now. I also emailed the library in Harrogate and the only church (St Chad's) in Middlesmoor. Fingers crossed I can pin point the right one.

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it xx

There seems to be one church in Middlesmoor, St Chad's. Just google it. There is a link to contact them. This might be a starting point. There is also a Pateley Bridge council site - I would try contacting them as it looks possible that Middlesmoor falls under this area. If not, they should be able to advise you.
Good luck!

Thank you! I looked on that site Jan and actually emailed 'Action for Children' as I thought they may have been able to help. They said my relative wasn't registered under them. They dealt with a good few in Harrogate.

I think Middlesmoor is tiny... I'm in Ireland though so I'm somewhat clueless lol.

I'll maybe see if I can find a library to email about it... :/

Hi.
I think 'cottage homes' might just have been a term for certain kids of facility. You might need a bit more local knowledge, fingers crossed there weren't too many such paces in this specific location.

Had a bit of a google search, not sure if worth checking this site:

Can anyone help....

I am looking for more information on a children's home that was running in 1945 in Middlesmoor, Harrogate. It is under the term 'cottage homes.' That's all the information I have. I need an address or a name or who ran the home.. Eg Banardos.. Would like to message them for record details for a relative.

Any suggestions..?? :-D
