Incidentally from the army records you might like to know William was 5 ft 9 and one eighth inches tall, brown hair and brown eyes. Worth a look at them if you can. :-)

Image gives mother Sarah Blair living at 36? Industry street Kirkintilloch..this was before his marriage , he was discharged from army as unfit 1916, but there is also a previous record showing he tried to go into the navy, but was unfit.( edit that was 1909. )

I will have a look at the suggested website.

I am presuming they wed in Scotland. Certainly I am told that all their children were born there, although none are still living to ask for any help on the parents.

Hi

If anyone has any knowledge of searching for marriages I am looking for one between:-

William James Hay Blair & Janie (or Jane) Scrymgeour Young

I have their names from a birth certificate for one of their sons. It is a Scottish birth record and it appears to indicate that Janie's maiden name was Young. It also gives a marriage date in 1916

William was Irish and Janie was a Scot

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated as this is an area new to me
