Found a marriage for a James Edwards 11th June 1865 Great Lever to a Betsy Parkinson. Unfortunately she died in 1866 age 28. Fathers name given as Thomas Edwards and William Parkinson

Yes that is James Edwards on the 1871 census, 1881 census living at 66 Seddon Street. Address given at marriage in 1870 both gave Willows Lane. He died 19th May 1882 address given 66 Seddon Street age 45. Mary died in 1891 same address given. I have found James Edwards age 15 coal miner with grandmother Sarah Edwards (nee Bowden) wondered if John Edwards had been married before?

Deane is an area of Bolton, in Greater Manchester, England.[1] It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) south west of Bolton and 11 miles (17.7 km) northwest of the city of Manchester.

Middle Hulton was a township of the civil and ecclesiastical parish of Deane in the Salford hundred of Lancashire, England. It was located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) miles south west of Bolton.[2]

On the 1851 census, Sarah Edwards is shown as born Middle Hulton, Lancs

Am wondering about this marriage, which doesn't help with James' Father, but would explain the Edwards/Bowden names on that census.

Hi

James Edwards son of the above married Mary Robinson in July 1870 in Bolton. Father's name given as Thomas Edwards (occupation Weaver) Also said James was a widower. Found a marriage 11 June 1865 in Great Lever Bolton same father details given. I know James Edwards is born circa 1837, he died in 1882 age 45.

I am having trouble finding Thomas Edwards in any records, have found James ( coal miner) 1871 and 1881 census in Seddon Street..
