Thanks everyone. It seems that I would need to contact the Woking history centre---I'll maybe give them a ring to see what they've gor in their records.

My late mother was brought up in this orphanage from 1912 to 1919 after the death of her father who was a shunter on the London and South Western Railway. Is there any way of finding records of admissions etc? She talked about lots of the girls who were her friends, but I've forgotten many of the names.
