No Codlings in a GR tree owned by anyone named Nicola, as far as I can see

That is possible if they can filter all the results from a general internet search - just make sure you always have your GR account linked to a current email address.

That way, even if you are no longer a subscribing member, they can take out a free trial and send you a Personal Message off-board by clicking on your name.

Presumably you have a tree on this site with your ancestor's details - that's the way 'most' members find contacts.

But if they typed in the surnames when searching them surnames theirselves surely my post would show?

Doubtful if anyone researching those surnames would stumble across your post. Best to use the search trees facility and try to make contact with members who have your family members in their tree, if any.
