No mistake for my sister in law because it gives her married name

Two of my partner's cousins are shown - and both are very much alive.

As with anything of this type, some mistakes have been made - it's inevitable.

Maybe her name has been confused with someone else of a similar name

My husbands family has my husbands name closed even though he’ died 10 years ago but in NZ

However his sister 2 years older is shown and she’s alive also in NZ

When the register was composed it was assured the info would be closed for 100 years

It was later used when the NHS started to issue NHS number, and any woman who had later married her new surname was annotated on the record

It has been updated several times and those for whom the death has been picked up have been opened

For instance I was evacuated with my elder sister and brother .
The couple who we were living with are open as is my sister .with her married name, as all have passed away. She passed in 2002.
I am the closed record , !!!

My brother who was two doors away is still closed as although he died in 2001 he was living in Spain so his death hasn't been picked up

I did wonder if that was the reason. I noticed some schoolchildren were detailed, however.

Many thanks for your kind help.

The ones marked like this are usually the children of the family. They may still be alive so their identities are protected. Hope this helps.

Why do the words 'this record is officially closed' appear on the 1939 register please?
