Hi everyone. Got an ancestor list with a few purple astrix In the left hand corner, of a few. Double clicked but all it does is reload the list. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean the boxes with your ancestors' names in, on your GR tree?
Purple stars with numbers in them?

When the system's working properly (and it's OK on my computer) , and you click on the star, it will say "You have x tree matches" - x being the number in the star. There will also be a button marked "View", which will let you see the supposed matches.

The list of matches will appear on a separate screen.
You may have to minimise the tree screen in order to see the list screen hiding behind it.

However, I haven't looked at those supposed matches for years.
I found that it was just a list of people in other people's trees, who happened to have the same name and the same year of birth as the ancestor in question - not necessarily bearing any relation to my tree.

Even if the purple star system isn't working, you can see the same list by going to "Search" at the top of this page, then "Search all member trees".
Enter the name and year of birth of your ancestor, and a list will appear.
If any of the results look like your ancestor, click on "Find out more" at the right side of the page, and contact the owner of the tree containing that person, and explain your possible connection.
They may or may not reply. Don't hold your breath.

But if you want the star system fixed, email [email protected] and explain the problem.

That's sorted the 'where is it' problem, although ArgyllGrans explanation of that the stars mean could be useful.
