Whats the best way to find out if some one changed thier sirname . Around 1888 my g grandad robert browning married Annie wicks but on the 1891 cencus there are 3 teens all brownings and not from his first wife i think they are his wifes Annie wicks b 1850 bethnal green i think her husband was a thomas a gas fitter. This may seem a bit obscure, but I found this thread when I randomly searched for "Chesterman Middlesex". My gg grandmother Elizabeth Chesterman (b. 1822) married Thomas Browning in Shoreditch, back in 1843. I see there are both Brownings and Chestermans on this census return. How tempting to think there is a connection to my family! What do you think?
