How can some one buried 1939 (witnessed) not be registered in the death records. We have all the correct information but no one can find a registration of the death (even records offices of where died) can some one please help? He died as a suicide 1939 whilst on two week manouvers with the TA at Holton Army Barracks near Lancaster, Lancashire.

My friend use to register Birth marriages and death in the army. Prehaps you could try contacting his regiment or even the T.A. as to what happened to the registration of his death and prehaps they could tell you if an inquest was held at his base or at the local T.A base from which he was at when his death occured. My knowledge is that no certificate of death ...no funneral ...coz the under taker needs this to get the body!! Ask the undertaker who did the funneral
