Hi All Thank you for your help her name is Annie Gellatly MILLS that was her married name (my grandfathers) whom she left for william henry Bacon ,she had a daughter with william called Iris Beatrice Bacon b.1931, william died in 1973 annie died 1941-44 so she didnt register him ,his son did from his previous marriage, annie lived with william at 119 shrewsbury ave kenton middlesex, until she died , i dont think she changed her name to his they never married i cant find a marriage for them divorce in those days was expensive , i found an iris Bacon marriage in Willesden in 1958 as i thought i would try and find her sent for marriage cert and it said father William Henry Bacon so possibly was her then hit a brick wall again my granny Annie is not there thank you all Carol |

Perhaps you need to work thru, qtr by qtr, form the last time you know categorically , that she was alive. which record- death or marriage ,you start with, I am not sure, If you are not sure if she married,and became Mrs X, i'm not sure that you'll know that a death of Mrs X is even her. Have you found his death, Mr Bacon? did she register it? |

Hi O.C. No i dont know how or what she died of , i am trying to find a burial place for her but without a date of death it is proving a task, i know the address she used to live at prior to her death i thought of contacting funeral directors for the area bit of a long shot but dont know what else to do Carol |

Carol Do you know the circumstances of her death? As it was during the war, the registration of her death could have been delayed, if, say, she was victim of a bombing incident. And, I suppose during the war years, things were a bit chaotic and the registration may have been lost, or even not happened at all. OC |

Hi Georgina I am sure you have already looked , everyone has Annie Gellatly Mills she may have used her parteners name of Bacon she died in kenton near Harrow MIDDLESEX she was born in scotland in 1899 so would have been early 40s Carol |

why was my grandmothers death not registered , we have searched and searched but nothing she died during the war years about 1941-1944 can anyone explain this thanks Carol |
