Is it possible to find out who was living in a house in the 1940's? How could I find out please? Thanks Maisy

No ER's were taken 1940 -1945.........there was War on! You may get lucky with the later years........... Reg

Thanks Reg, I'm not thinking straight. I believe they lived there even after the war so where would I need to look please? Unfortunately got to go out now but will check later. Thanks Maisy

If you know vaguely where they lived you should contact the nearest library who will be able to tell you which years they have and even search for you. I payed £10 for a half hour search at Huddersfield library for the years 1946-50 and got the results I wanted. Jennifer

Maisy try the relevant county records office. I know Sunderland has all their electoral rolls there, assume other county records offices also hold them. T.O.R. ;o))
