A Thomas E Gill is registered in the Sep qtr of 1916 in the West Derby area. West Derby covered both Great Crosby and Little Crosby at that time. Parents have 6 weeks to register the birth so a birth in June is often registered in the next quarter. Beaten by three seconds lol

right!!! I think this could be him Sept qtr 1916 mother -Brownhill- W Derby 8b 1109. Crosby comes under W Derby reg district You have six weeks to register a birth so he was probably reg in july which takes it into the next qtr. It always worth looking in the next qtr for births and deaths especially when its Dec and it can have been reg in Jan the next year.

An Olde Crone

Is it possible he wasnt born in Liverpool? There was a war on - she might have gone somewhere else to give birth. Could he have been born before the marriage? As you are positive about his exact date of birth, I wont offer you the ones born 1911 and 1920! But with the information you do have, you could ask the local RO to do a search for you. OC

1875 was when it became the legal requiremnt to register births. How sure are you on the year of birth . where did you get it from . if its from the other certs then the info on them is only as good as the informants memory.especiallly the death cert. Do you know his mums maiden name because that will be shown on the indexes and will help to pinpoint his birth Shirley
