Hi, can anyone help, please? I've recently made contact with a lady in New Zealand who shares my grandfather. It turns out he was married to one lady & then just disappeared & ended up with my nan. My mum was blissfully unaware that her dad had been married previously & that she had half-brothers & a half-sister. Anyway, the lady in New Zealand has never even seen a photo of Grandad. I have dug out some very old photos ( he died in 1965) & don't know how best to send them. Is there a way of e-mailing them to her, or would I be better photocopying them & posting them? I obviously don't want to leave them in a photographic shop to be copied in case they go awol ( like Grandad!). Anyone out there who is not a technological ignoramus like me?

You could take them to your local stationary shop where they can photocopy them for you while you wait and them post them off to her or you could scan them into your computer and send them as an attachement to your e mail. Rebekah

Hello Rebekah, how do I scan them into my computer?

Hi Karen I had some old photos I wanted to send to a contact on GR. I took them to Boots and scanned them into the machine myself. Then I got a ticket and went back later to pick them up. That way you keep hold of your photographs and can get copies too. I'm awful with technology but the staff are always willing to help. Good Luck Maisy

Karen, if you don't own a scanner you can go to your local photo developers (even Tescos have them these days) and ask them to do it while you wait. They will then give you a disc containing the image which you can either post or put it into your computer to e-mail it.
