Hi I have just started my family tree and have come across IGI could some one please tell me what it means, Thankyou in anticipation, Lizzi

IGI is the International Genealogical Index. It is compiled by members of the LDS church, and posted on their website, which is www.familysearch.org It is not complete..........nor is it entirely accurate, although 'extracted' info, based on Parish records is more likely to be correct than 'member submitted' details.
