HOW DO I TRACE AUSTRALIAN RECORDS?

Can anyone help? I know my great grandfather was shipped off to Australia by his parents, I know when he went and what name of the liner but I don't know how to persue him from there

Thank you for your help, he went in 1913 to Brisbane, however slightly confused now as I got a message saying he was shipped off to Australia to CurryCurry?!

There's Cloncurry in Outback Queensland - a lot of those 'shipped out' by their parents worked on the remote stations of the outback - to keep them out of trouble I think. If you know approx what year and the ships name, you could try findmypast passengers leaving UK (1890-1919 at the moment). (I will look if you don't have any credits, I have a couple left I won't need now I have found my g/father and his family) There are on-line indexes to the Queensland assisted migrants records http://www.archives.qld.gov.au/research/indexes.asp And QLD has just released the BDM indexes up to 1914, if he came before then. http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/bdm/ (click on top right 'search historical indexes') Di

His name was James Archibald and it was in 1913 - I will follow up these leads thank you for all your help!
