Pam, Im useless at puters but if I ever have a query like this I know someone else will have asked and it will come up on a google search. I just googled Change PDF to Word - and hundreds of articles came up - I didnt read them all, but there is one which gives a free trial - Ive used this sort of thing before, the free trial is a one off usually but enough for my purpose! Have a google - this is the site with the trial, there may be better ones for you. Change the asterisks to full stops: http://www*investintech*com/

You can't unless you have specific software to do it - try Google if you haven't. Most people don't have this kind of software unless they have downloaded something. If you want to add the people on the .pdf file to your family tree, you will still have to enter them one by one unless the other person sends you a GEDCOM instead. Sam x

Unless it's in an image format or password-protected, you can just copy-paste it to a Word file. In the View menu, select Continuous. Then in the Edit menu, Select All. Then hit CTRL-C to copy the text (hold down the CTRL key while you press C). Open a new Word document, and hit CTRL-V to paste the text you've copied.

As Mary says but you may have to go to 'page layout' in the View menu to find 'continuous'. Ozi.
