Its not just orange, I used to get it for days with talktalk O.E. I wrote to them several times and they come out with all this nonsense about changing your settings when you know its nothing to do with that as you have always had the same ones. The last time after phoning and asking to speak to a supervisor I was told it was a fault their end, that one server was down and that the rest were overloaded. In which case, there is nothing we can do this end but wait for them to sort it. Try emailing them with a very stern complaint.

This is a standard error message which could be caused by a number of reasons. Is is not necessarily your fault nor that of you ISP so don't try to jump to conclusions too soon e.g. Do you log on to MSN Network? For example if you are logged in you can not send messages via Orange Some ISP's have started blocking port 25 as this is often used to transmit spam. Type or copy paste Socket Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E into Google and it will bring up a number of sites offering suggestions.

Oh thats right, as Peter said, one of their suggestions was to log into their homepage and enter the messages through there.
