I have Mary Ann Jobling marrying Thomas Blachford in OND 1860 (South Shields) They have at least 2 children Margaret Jane Jobling Blackford JFM 1862 Isabella Blachford OND 1865 Can't find Mary Ann & Thomas on 1861 census Jump to 1871 census Thomas Blanhford 30 Barbara (wife) 36 Margaret Jane (d) 9 Isabella (d) 5 Nicholas Codling (s) 1 Found probable Marriage between Thomas Blanchford & Barbara Walker OND 1868. Main problem is I can't find a death for Mary Ann. Any suggestions?? T.O.R. ;o))

HI, Had exactly the same problem on Monday. Then someone suggested trying a different first name ie in your case Marie Ann , Anne. It worked . Hope this helps a bit .x Kim

You need to search for Bla*ford * is used as a wildcard. A wildcard is a character that may be used in a search term to represent one or more other characters.
