I want to Fine Tune my friends email address and it is so long since I did anything like this I would welcome a reminder please. This is a BT - ISP and my friend is logged in as Example: Bloggs@bt... and when I receive an email from her it has her initial displayed as M Bloggs. This is incorrect and I need to change this to the correct initial. The actual email address will remain the same as Bloggs@bt... Do I need to create a new email address for her or can I make a simple change to the correct initial. Margaret N |

Hi Margaret, Do you use Outlook Express or MSN or something else? If it is Outlook Express!!, 1. Go onto your e-mail page. 2. Click at the top on addresses, then it comes up with all the names and e-mail address for all your contacts. 3. Now double click on the name and e-mail address of the person you want to change. (It turns blue) 4. This takes you to the properties page of the person your are trying to change. Now just changed the name or initial bit to whatever it should be, click save and thats it. Betty |

Betty, I have just had a look at your idea. Maybe I did not make it clear. It is not my address book that needs to be altered it is the actual name on my friends own PC so that when she sends an email it has her name displayed in the receipients inbox and not the name that has a mistake in it. Will have another look around the set up later. Cheers Margaret. |

Bernie, I can do this OK on my own O/L express using internet explorer 6. On my friends new Vista laptop with internet explorer 7 and a complex BT screen using O/L express I just could not get into the option to change. It said everything was locked and then the screen disappear and I could not find this option again. Account options appear to be secrect. Will take another look at it tomorrow if I have time. Thank you for your interest. Margaret N |

Oh dear - now I'm scared Margaret. Maybe I should not upgrade next week but stick with '95. If you can't get any other help then search for needanerd + NZ and they will answer one query free. Bernie |
