Ancestry has all England/Wales bmd's.....free to anyone who registers with the site. This is the address for marriages.........(omit brackets) http://www.ancestry(.)co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=8965 The bride's surname will be recorded on the groom's entry.....you can cross-refer the entries to ascertain her forename(s). As I stated earlier, all bmd's are FREE on Ancestry...............you only have to register. You can't have tried using the web address I posted, or you would know that there is no requirement to give any card details............ Reg

I've said this before, but want to say it again! Reg seems to be the only person who tries to get people to look up things for themselves. Surely it's better for them to look up themselves when it's free and easily accessible!

I must have pressed wrong buttons as it asked for card details --will try again, Ros

Anne , as I don`t have many relatives in England I`m used to Scotlandspeople and have not had to use Ancestry before. I`ve done searches for people on there using my paid for credits which I don`t mind doing, Ros

Ros I wasn't having a go at you, honest! Just a general comment that someone, in this case Reg, explains how to do it yourself, then other people just do the search. I think if someone has explained how to do it, then that should stand as the answer to the question.
