hi, i am looking for the birth of mark allen 1838 dullingham, cambridgeshire. i have found him on all the census from 1841 through to the 1901, i have his death record i just cant find his birth. his baptism his name is given as allen or aylin - i have looked under both with no luck. the baptism was 23 nov 1838, dullingham, cambridge

It's possible that his birth wasn't registered as it was quite soon after the start of registration in 1837 and wasn't compulsory until 1875. Kath. x

The BVRI has a christening of Mark Allen or Aylin, 23 Nov. 1837, Dullingham, Cambridgeshire. Mother Eliza Allen or Aylin. Seems like your guy but a year out. Margaret

whether it is 1837 or 1838 i still cant find him. there is a birth for a mark allen in 1937 but in morpeth not cambs. maybe he wasnt regisitered as someone said.
