Looking into birth for Kezia Gough, Oct/Nov/Dec 1874, Marlborough, 5a pg 86 It says 'image not available'- does this mean I wouldn't be able to order the cert?

As long as you have the details then you can order the certificate from the GRO Maureen

Well you have the GRO ref so you can order the cert. Why are you wanting to view the image which is only the ledger page showing the GRO refs? Shirley

Also- on the 1881 for this family (Gough, Marlborough, father William), they have 2 daughters of 6 yrs old. Kezia is one, but also Jemima. If that makes them twins,I can't find Jemima's birth at all - could this be linked to the 'image not available'? I see a Jemima Gough born the next year in Bradfield, but would that make them list both girls as 6 on the census??? That's why I was hoping to see the ledger page, see if jemima was there too

They may have been born with under a year between them , the ages on census are as at the last birthday so one girl is probably coming up to 7 and the younger one just 6 Have you checked Freebmd Shirley

Have checked the image for you and the reference you have is correct.

Jemima is not on the same page. If you do a search for the name Frank Goudge you will get the page you are looking for. (Goudge being the last name on the page - but handwritten)

Thanks everyone! One more quick query.... in 1881 both girls at home in 1891 only Jemima(now called Jane- her marriage 1894 gives her as Jemima Jane) in 1901 Kezia is working in London, still Gough ( transcribed as Hezia, I've reported that) Married 1903 Any idea where to find her in 1891? I think I've tried all the spelling variations, but I know you'll have more

Bradfield reg district is Berkshire but the 1881 census has all the children born Marlboro Wiltshire. there are younger siblings too on the census . i cant see that one child would have been born out of Wiltshire. have you checked them on the 1891 census. Shirley

Shirley- I agree, the bradfield one seems wrong, the 1891 says 'Jane' born Marlborough. I'll keep looking for her, although its kezia i'm descended from. Thanks Elaine, Glitter for the other info re 1891, I'll have a look Yes- that's her, I'm sure! Thanks so much, no wonder she was 'unfindable' for the relations who searched pre-internet, this will mean so much to my family to trace her THANKS! p.s. I normally use Ancestry, plus IGI (familysearch) altho' I don't get anywhere much with that. Advice?? I notice you crossref'd with Findmypast?
