Lynne The Percy L Hobbs born 1901 was a newphew of Micah A Hobbs, his brother Frank Hobbs son, so he could not have been a grandchild. As I have found marriages and children for all 12 children of Micah and Eliza except Eliza A A Hobbs and Margaret E Hobbs, I am assuming the flowers from grandchildren are from Margaret's children whom I have only found Percy, unless obviously Eliza married and had children. Hi all Have found out that she apparently moved up to the Blackpool area and was there in 1920's and 1930s possibly until 1960s, but uncertain where she was between Percy Amos Hobbs born 1902 on the Isle of Wight and 1920s when in Blackpool area. Joanna |

Thanks Georgina Can rule this out as she gave birth to Percy Amos Hobbs on the 24/10/1902 on the Isle of Wight and on his birth certificate she is named Margaret Edith Hobbs and father blank. So unless she was heavily pregnant when she married and lied on Percy Amos Hobbs birth certificate this can not be possible. Thanks though for your help Joanna |

Hi I am wondering if anyone can help. I am trying to find a marriage of a Margaret Edith Hobbs born 1883, Brading, Isle of Wight. What I know is that she had an illegitmate child in 1902 Percy Amos Hobbs (father not on certificate), on Isle of Wight. Also in newspaper write up of her brothers funerals in December 1913 and April 1914 she is referred to as Mrs Powell (sister) all the other sisters are accounted for and this must be her. However I can not find a marriage. In her father's funeral write up in the paper there is flowers from grandchildren Percy, Win, Harold and Edie, again I have not found these other then assuming that Percy is her illegitmate child. Would like some ideas where to go from here really? I am told by a descendant from another sister of Margaret Edith Hobbs that she move and lived in the North most of her life, but no areas. Difficultly is that pretty much none of sisters were know by their first christian name, most were know by their second. Any help on where I could look for further information is greatfully receievd as fill have hit a brick wall Thanks Joanna |
