Can anyone find Arthur William Murray b 1871 in Forest Gate, Essex, on the 1901 census. I have found him on other census, but although I have looked on Ancestry, and other sites. Can not find him. on 1901 census. Where is he? Knew he did not die, as I remembered him when a child. |

Thank you so much for looking for me. This has been a bugbear for me for the past few years, I did see the marriage, and believe Alice Hampton, was the wife, as she was the daughter of the Foreman who worked for Arthur, will now be able to proceed and find out. As I know where she was born. Took all the spellings for Murray, but did not think of this. Should have know, as one of my rellies Fraser, was down as Travers,. Thank you all once again. Maureen |

Thanks again Richard, As I thought the Alice was Alice Hampton. This has now given me not only all my Grandfathers siblings, but has solved the reason, my dear old Grandad fell out with this brother. The brother married the daughter of the Foreman of my great grandfather's business, and when the old man died, the Foreman ran the business down, giving work out to another person, and then bought the business at a knock down price, Thus depriving the rest of the boys in the family of a livlihood. Of course Arthur kept his job. Now I know why my Grandad was not interested in this brother. Maureen |
