I have found a marriage in 1853, but its just an entry stating the couples names, the dates of the readings of the banns and the date of marriage. Can I order the cert. or is that the only information I am likely to get on the marriage? |

You need the GRO ref unless you can order from the Local Register office Where did you find the info you have |

I got it from Scotlands people. They married in kirkintilloch. From what ive seen, There isnt a ref no. at all. |

Jodi All this is explained quite clearly on Scotlands People. Civil Registration started in Scotland in 1855. There is no 'certificate' before that date. What you have is an image of an entry in a parish register. You can download a copy. You do have the options of looking at the 1841 and 1851 census. Denis |
