Hello Joyce. I had this problem. So I replaced all the information shown for the person I wanted to delete with unknown. Save that to your tree. Then delete .If you want to delete both parents replace all the father's details you have shown with unknown then save to tree, then do the same for mother's details then delete them both. It worked on the old tree but I have not tried it on the new one. Regards Alan |

Hello Joyce. I do beg to differ. Just before the old tree was withdrawn I deleted one side of my tree from c1780 back to 1890 with 23 names starting at the top with a Henry Hunt bc1780 and Elizabeth Unknown to Emily Hunt b1890 by the method in my earlier email with no trouble at all. kind regards Alan. |

Hi Joyce, Presumably (hopefully!) the children are attached to just one of those duplicate names? Change the name of the 'childless' wife to Delete or whatever just so you can tell her apart. Then check by clicking on her in the immediate family view that there are indeed no ancestors or children attached to her. If there are none you should be able to delete her. If you find you have a couple of children who have become separated from the mother you wish to keep, you can copy them and add them to her. You can then delete the ones attached to the duplicate mother, before you can delete the duplicate mother. |
