Has anyone received any results from this tool? Searching over 300 million historical government records for xxxxxxxxxxx born XXXX. with the circling dots....as if it is trying to do something? |

Hi Gillian, Thanks, that's it, I'm using Firefox.....can use IE if I wish. You may have tried using Firefox tabs....with several members' trees open at once.....for comparison....also worth trying is the Firefox add on, 'Adbloc Plus' which gets rid of all the annoying adverts. Sandy. |

Gillian, My tree is about 99% Scottish...so only a small branch of my maternal line is in England, although I am in Surrey, but I can see how useful the search thing would be. Re. the tabbing. Go into GR on Firefox as normal, get your tree, bookmark it, choose another member tree, bookmark as well, then repeat as many as you wish. Then go into 'Organise Bookmarks', put them all in a folder, which you have created, then put the folder e.g. 'GR homepage and my trees' or whatever you want to call it, then put that into the 'Bookmarks Toolbar Folder'. Use drag and drop to move things around, by the way. Then when you open Firefox just click on the folder in the toolbar and Firefox does the rest. Note of caution to non Firefox users....be very careful after installing it, especially when creating or changing user profiles. If you are not sure, do not do it, some changes are irrecoverable. The above of course is 'in my opinion'. Sandy. |
