I have got my grandfathers medals and one of them is the 1914 Star Medal. It has got a bar and a black button one the ribbon. Can anyone tell me what the bar and black button represents. Thanks Su |

The bar and rosette means he served under enemy fire between 14th. August and midnight 22/223rd. August 1914. Jennifer |
