Thanks Kathleen - the closest I've found. Might be worth ordering the certificate to check. |

Hi, I've got a huge brick wall in my tree and it's a mystery that my father and I are desperately trying to solve. My Father's Grandfather was a man named George Stevenson. He was born in Gateshead, Durham in March 1882. He married my Great Grandmother, Daisy Rowe around 1916/17. It was her second marriage. My Grandmother was born in 1921 and she remembers that her father (George Stevenson) died when she was around 5 or 6 - around 1925 to 1927. They were living in Newcastle upon Tyne at the time and he was running a family dairy in Heaton. I can't find any trace of a death. He had a sister named Sarah. His father Frederick had already died. We would love to find out more about George and particularly the way he died. We have uncovered a fair few mysteries about the family - we would dearly love to confirm that he did indeed die and didn't just leave. |
