Hi Kelly Try this website http://www.bensoc.org.au/parc/director/searchandreunion.cfm Scroll down and click Australian Adoption Information... it's a 5 page PDF file. It gives you a quick rundown of all States and Territories adoption contact laws. It also contains links and email addresses so you can contact the correct department and ask them your questions. my mum was adopted, and i traced her easy enogh but that was here in the uk. also i knew her birth name. i cross refrenced her birth name with her adoptive name? and sent for a search of the records. also cross refrencing any details you have of his birth parents and adoptive parents. if you dont have any of these. try his date of birth, place of birth(residence) and search adoption records of of that area? other than that, i cant think of what else you can try. another thing would be if you have a short birth cert for him, and the date in which that certificate was written, this would be the date of the adoption!!!! goodluckxxxx sorry if none of this is of any use!!!!!!!! thanks fiona

Hi, Im trying to find adoption records, regarding my grandfather. He was apparently born in Fremantle , Western Australia in 1931. His name (adopted name) is Patrick Merritt. Any help would be fantastic, Im at a dead end. Thank you
