does anyone know of where/ how i can find information or records on old schools/ churches? one of my g/g/grandads was a teacher in a ?church school in birkenhead in the 1870s. he disappeared suddenly leaving a wife and kids and it wasnt until recently until i made a contact via here, that we found out that he reappeared in the n/east and started a new family up there. all sorts of rumours and stories were told. wirral record office do appear to have some info on the school, but i dont think the dates tally. i am awaiting a callback, but if anyones got any idea i would be most grateful. sara |

yes i have. the only 'hit' that i have got so far is through wirral records office, but the dates they have for the school dont tally with the time he was supposed to be teaching there.i need to find out first of all if the school was actually open then, so i know that i have the right school. i have left a message with the records office in birkenhead and am awaiting a call back. sara |
