Was searching for a thread to add on to but gave up and starting my own. Have read several comments about the new format... However a contact emailed me to ask why her tree appeared to be copied in someone elses tree. Out of interest I thought I would look at hers and she has aquired all the relations I have placed on the site. Looked at other trees I have access to and they also have exactly 1368 relations. Can someone please explain what is going on?? All I can think/hope is that other trees can not be viewed the same and for some reason it is just to show how each tree fits in with the other...... Am I rambling? :-)) However, this would not explain why there are exactly the same amount of relations!!! I know I am getting on a bit but still......... Regards to anyone who can explain I did look to see if there was a news update but unable to find. solveigh

Now here's a funny thing. I've been testing out what my contacts' trees are behaving like and this is what I found. If I look at my list of contacts, specifically at the Relation column, some of them have a name against each contact, but many of them don't. If I try and view a tree for a contact which doesn't have a name in the Relation column, this is the message I get: Sorry, relation can not be found Plus a blank white screen. I can still select the tree from the drop down list at the top right, which gives me the contact's tree, and it has '<Contact name>: <number> relations' at the top of the screen. Here's the interesting bit. If I look at the tree of a contact which does have a name in the Relation column, the contact's tree opens, but it has '<Relation name>: <number> relations' at the top of the screen and the named Relation is the current person. Thinking about it, this is probably a feature as it's pretty useful, although it would be better to have the contact's name at the top of the screen. None of the trees that have opened up via the contacts page have been my tree yet, but hey, anything could happen... You know, despite having lost all my messages, I'm having quite a lot of fun finding glitches in this new update. I must be bored. :-) Chris

Thank you for the tips... Yes, Gillian you are right Why did I not think that if I click on a contacts tree - of course I want to see mine instead......... Sorry for my senile moment :-))) while I am here..... how do you stop others putting/copying you on to site especially when you have had no contact with person nor any idea how they know you. leave you with that one. solveigh

solveigh I have said on other thread that I think this is a bug. You are not seeing others trees but your own - they haven't copied anything. It doesn't happen all the time though, so eagerly awaiting a resolution.
