Do you read all the info on the home page here as that will help get you started. Whose certs are you buying?

Make sure when you fill in the online form to order the certificates, that when it asks 'Is the Full GRO Reference Known?' that you tick the 'yes' box. If you leave it on 'No' they will charge you more. Kath. x

Susan if you look up the Birth,Marriage or death on FreeBMD or Ancestry there will be a GRO reference number, with this number you can order the certificate online for £7 (quoting the reference number) at this website... http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ If you need help finding the reference numbers just ask for some help on here. Georgina.

Order them online with a credit card at http://www.gro.gov.uk, they don't take too long to arrive. Never pay more than 7 pounds for a certificate as that is how much they cost (including the postage) from the GRO. Search for the registration on the FreeBMD to obtain the Volume and Page number for a birth, marriage or death as you will need to quote that reference when ordering online. Alison
