Sorry, Hovis, I didn't mean to duplicate your thread - I must have missed it. :-) I've sent a message to GR asking them to restore the lost messages, and I've had a standard reply back saying my query has been passed to the technical department. I shall have to wait and see. Annoying, isn't it? I wonder if other GR members who still have all their messages never deleted them from the inbox and sent items. Peter, are you there? Can you confirm this is the case? Chris |

For those of us who have had messages disappear from the Contacts list since GR has been updated, here's a bit more information. To quote from GR's FAQs: -------------------- If I delete an email will I be able to get it back? When you delete an email from your sent items or ‘inbox’, you can still view it in the Your Contacts section. However deleting a ‘contact’ deletes all emails associated with that member. -------------------- This is how I have previously handled my messages, and it has worked fine. If I left a message in my inbox it was because I had yet to respond to it. Once I'd sent out a response, I deleted the message from my inbox and then referred to the whole thread, as it were, of messages via the Contacts list. This morning when I received a message, I made sure that it had appeared on the sender's Contacts page as well. It had done, so I deleted the message from my inbox. Returning to the sender's Contact page, lo and behold it says there are no messages for this contact, which is contrary to the information in the FAQ. I can only assume that the reason for all my messages disappearing is that I have previously deleted them from my inbox and sent messages lists. Is this how it is working for anybody else, or is it just me? Chris |
