Have you tried contacting the bereavment services dept at the relevant council? They may be able to assist you with a search of any burials or cremations at the time of the death.

Unless you have some info theres nothing can be done. Surely you know her name? have you some sort of date when she was last known. You have to do a process of elimination. Shirley Update have just reread your thread and think you mean you know her name etc. have you got her death cert

The councils for the area will be able to help you with cemeteries.. but if your family was not particularly wealthy, the grave is likely to be unmarked and, depending on how long ago she died, the plot could have been re-used. If you have a death cert and a list of graveyards, all you can do is contact either the council or the church responsible for each and see if they can help. they should have records of who was buried where.

As Keith says, try the Cemetery nearest where the death took place. If your cousin was looking round for a headstone, there may not be one, she could have been cremated or depending on how long ago, the ston may have been removed, broken or be illegible. Sam x

She may not be buried..........she may be cremated, or may have donated her remains for research. If she is buried, perhaps no-one paid for a headstone............ Reg
