Hi All I am struggling to find Sarah Ann/Annie Knight. What I know about her is that she married on the 3rd July 1879 Name on marriage certificate Sarah Ann Knight and was of Full Age residence at time of marriage was Amport, Hampshire. Her father name is Charles Stephen Knight, I can not make out the occupation of father Super something may be? I also have her son's birth certificate William John White, he was born 08/12/1879 in Isleworth, Middlesex and mother is registered as Sarah Annie White formerly Knight, but this was registered by husband William White, so would go with her being Sarah Ann Knight. In the cenus 1881 it says Sarah Ann was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire, 1891 it says Sarah A was born in Reading, Berkshire and I am unsure about what it says in the 1901 cenus. Any help or assistance would be great to find her birth so I can order her birth certificate and possibly find any siblings. Thanks Joanna

Just as point of ref........Basingstoke and Reading are not very far apart, in spite of being in different counties. Reg

Hi Rose I do have a scan and I will gladly send it to you, if your happy to take a look, it is unfortunately not the best copy. Shirley -I think Sarah Ann Knight's birth must be around 1855, else she would not of been full age when she married?? I know not everyone is honest though on certificates Joanna

On the Cenuses 1881 26 years, 1891 36 years, 1901 42 years, she seems to lose a few years on the last cenus Joanna

Hi Joanna, No luck I'm afraid. The writing's not too good. Perhaps you could post another thread titled 'need help reading a cert' You'll get lots of help then. Rose

It might say Engine Driver? Not sure the first letter is an S because it's different to all the other Ss on the page. Rose
