Thank you all for your messages, I thought it would be near on impossible, but I'll try the Ancestry approach. I know what area they were married, so I might be able to find something. Thank you. Shirley-ann

I'd say it was virually impossibe - without something more to go on as a 'try', i have just entred NICHOLA on the 84- 2003 sction of ancestry , and yes, it does list all the Nichola's that married,( alphabtically by surname) but you have to cross ref each on indiviually with the male surname for a christian name match. it could take for ever unless it was two totally obsure names. i'd have said Nichola ( with an H ) wasn't as common as Nicola ( without H) and there are 6,300 odd of them! over 9 years!

Sorry Shirley-Ann - but I think in this case you are asking the impossible, unless you know the birth date of one of their children (in which case you would have at least one of the surnames, so you probably haven't got this). Kath. x

Hi Shirley-ann, You can do this type of lookup on Ancestry for marriages after 1983, but you can only put in the name of one person at once. Unless it's a very unusual name you could end up having to search through thousands of entries. Chris

Morning all. I know it's a long shot and probably I am asking for the impossible, but does anyone out there have any software/facility to look up/find marriages with just christian names, which will pop up results with surnames? I am looking for two people who were married 1975 onwards, I have their christian names but no idea what their surnames are? If anyone can help can you PM me please. I think I am asking for the impossible, but I know there are magical people out there!!. Thank you. Lovely day here today in East Sussex. Shirley-ann
