I have just rec. the death cert of a relli who died in 1861. In the name section it gives his two Christian names followed by his surname twice. Any ideas why this should be please. Kathlyn |

How strange - sounds like just a slip or lack of concentration by the registrar. Are there any numbers for corrections on there? |

Hi Heather, No, there are no notations on the cert. kathlyn |

With Baptisms this could be because when the vicar asked 'What do you name this child' the parent gave not just Christian names but also the surname. This happened to my cousin because our surname can also be a christian name. Don't suppose it is impossible that the same thing happened in your case. Keith |
